You must have at least 2 pieces of ID, and one preferably with your picture on it. It would be wise to have the birth certificates of your children if they are coming into Canada with you. United States Citizens do not require passports or Visas to cross the U.S./Canada border, but it is recommended. If you are traveling as a single parent, it is recommended that you have a note from you spouse regarding your travels. As a rule customs are very helpful and appreciative of your visit, so don't be negligent with your entry preparations. You are allowed 40 ounces of liquor or 24 beer, & either 50 cigars or 200 cigarettes per person duty free. Hunters can bring 200 rounds of ammunition duty free. Those flying in with their own aircraft can clear customs at the international airport at Regina, Sask. It is a simple procedure & you will soon be on your way.
